STEPHEN MINIstry

Stephen Ministry is Christ caring for people through people. Stephen Ministers are laypersons who have received 50 hours of training to provide care and comfort consisting of reflective listening and the use of Christian resources such as prayer and scripture.  Stephen Ministers are trained to listen, empathize, and provide support to members of our church family who are experiencing a period of crisis or transition (i.e. grief, illness, divorce, or other life difficulties).

Those receiving care, meet with their Stephen Minister for about an hour weekly or bi-weekly depending on the circumstances.  The Stephen Leader works with the pastor to be certain that all in the church family receive care.
