Rev. Teena Carpenter

Rev. Teena Carpenter

Pastor

Pastor Teena was born and grew up in a suburb of Atlanta, GA. At the age of 30, Teena joined the Metropolitan Community Church in St. Petersburg, Florida where she quickly felt called to the pastoral ministry with MCC. While with the MCC, she got her training and education through the Samaritan Institute for Religious Studies and at Eden Theological Seminary. She then became ordained serving in several churches for a decade before health issues led to her decision to leave the ministry at the time. During her time away, Teena earned a Master's Degree in Applied Clinical Psychology and for 16 years worked as a co-occurring disorders therapist. As she approached the retirement age, Teena joined Delavan UCC and felt the call to return to pastoral ministry. In December 2024, she was unanimously elected to be the next Settled Pastor of our Church and is currently working toward ordination within the United Church of Christ. Teena currently lives in Delavan with her spouse Becky of over 20 years who, coincidentally, graduated from high school here in Delavan!
